The 2002 United States Mint Uncirculated Coin Set is now available - the fourth set in the ten-year series celebrating each of the 50 states. This year ten new 2002 coins in uncirculated condition will be minted at both the Denver and Philadelphia Mint facilities - the Golden Dollar featuring Sacagawea, the Kennedy half dollar, Roosevelt dime, Jefferson nickel, Lincoln cent and five new quarters in the 50 State Quarters Program. The set consists of two envelopes - one containing ten coins from the Denver Mint facility bearing the "D" mint mark and the other containing ten coins from the Philadelphia Mint facility bearing the "P " mint mark - twenty coins in all.
This year five new quarters will be released through the 50 State Quarters Program never to be produced again. These 2002 quarters will honor Tennessee - "Musical Heritage," Ohio - "Birthplace of Aviation Pioneers," Louisiana - "Louisiana Purchase," Indiana - "Crossroads of America," and finally Mississippi - "The Magnolia State."
